The Older Americans Act and the Older Michiganians Act requires Area Agencies on Aging, as part of the national aging service network, to engage in planning activities, then develop and manage a comprehensive organized service delivery system in connection with older adults and caregivers.

The Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging approved the 2007-09 Multi-Year Plan.
